PRIVATE training & behavior counseling

Perfect for anyone wanting one-on-one instruction in the most common problem behaviors, our Private Training & Counseling department offers several flexible options.

Common behavior problems addressed include but are not limited to:

basic obedience such as sit, stand, down, stay, and “come”, anti-jump training, leash walking (heel), housetraining, chewing, digging, humping, manners including greeting manners, in-home destruction, counter-surfing, and barking.

Private Training sessions are held in either our Capitol Hill Studio, in your own home, or other public location. A portion of your first training session involves an assessment of your personal needs and your dog’s strengths and areas needing improvement. Based on the findings of this assessment, a personal private training plan will be devised by your trainer.

Initial assessment and training consultation: $79 in studio, $89 other location.

Hourly rate after initial assessment and training consultation: $69/hr in studio, $79/hr other location.

Puppy classes are super for teaching new pups manners, helping them become well-socialized, and giving them a strong obedience foundation.

But what about all that stuff that happens outside of class, like housetraining, chewing, biting, digging, barking, and all those "crazy" puppy behaviors?

The Puppy Right Starttm consult is designed to address all the challenges you face with your new puppy at home. You'll go away with a sturdy foundation of knowledge and a toolkit of techniques to help your puppy ace housetraining, chew training, bite training, manners training, and develop into a well-behaved, healthy, balanced adult free of the serious behavior problems that plague so many dog owners. You’ll also be given a thorough rundown of important developmental milestones and the secrets to help your dog avoid the most common problem behavior pitfalls.

The Puppy Right Starttm consult lasts approximately 2 hours and is conducted in your home. Educational materials will be provided and 30 days of email or phone support is included in the cost of the consult. $160.

Payment Policy for Training Services:

Credit card may be required to confirm appointment. Payment for all training services due at beginning of appointment. 24 hour notice required for cancellation. Cancellations within 24 hours of scheduled appointment will be charged for scheduled service. This fee is non-refundable. No-shows will be considered a cancellation within 24 hours.

Rescheduled appointments within 24 hours of scheduled appointment time will be charged full amount for scheduled services. If appointment is rescheduled, this fee will be applied to rescheduled appointment. If appointment is not rescheduled, this fee is non-refundable.
